Yerba Santa is native to Nevada County and is highly valued by indigenous people and herbalists for its medicinal properties. Its flowers are attractive to bees and butterflies.

Unfortunately its leaves have a flammable resin and it can look scraggly and unattractive, so not everyone is psyched to have a lot of it around.

The goats love this stuff when it’s small to medium sized, but when it grows too tall, they lose interest. Ultimately, goats are great for keeping Yerba Santa in check, but you’ll need to use a small chainsaw for more the tree-like plants.
