Jocelyn Brown

Jocelyn is standing in a livestock handling system, holding a lamb. The lamb's mother is standing nearby.

I am originally from suburban St. Paul,  Minnesota. My parents would not buy me a pony (or goats), but I was a 4H kid in the dog and rabbit clubs. I grew up to be a yoga teacher, then a doula, then a licensed midwife practicing in Oregon and California. After 15 years of birth work, I got tired of staying up all night delivering babies. Working with livestock is what I’ve wanted to do since I was a kid, and there are a lot of similarities between midwife life and ranch life. For fun I like to read and hike and swim in the creek with Bernice.
